Erectile dysfunction (ED) can affect men of all ages, causing frustration, anxiety, and a decline in self-esteem. It is characterized by the inability to achieve or sustain an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse. While ED can result from various physical and psychological factors, there’s no need to let it define your life. If traditional treatments are not yielding satisfactory results, Penile Implant Surgery or Shock Wave Therapy can come to your rescue.

Penile Implant Surgery

Penile Implant Surgery, also known as penile prosthesis surgery, is a procedure for implanting a penis surgically. The implant consists of inflatable cylinders that can be filled with fluid to create an erection. A small pump placed in the scrotum controls the process. This discreet, highly effective treatment offers a natural feel and the ability to achieve an erection whenever desired. It aims to restore sexual function, intimacy, and confidence.

How Is It Performed?

Pre-Care: Before undergoing Penile Implant Surgery, your andrologist will conduct a comprehensive assessment to ensure your candidacy. He will review your medical history and perform necessary tests. You may need to discontinue certain medications that could affect the surgery for a while before the procedure. The doctor will let you know when it is safe to resume taking them.

Anesthesia: On the day of the surgery, you will arrive at the clinic after a small period of fasting. The surgical team will administer anesthesia after checking your vitals. This will keep you comfortable and pain-free during the surgery.

Incision & Implantation: Your andrologist will make a discreet incision in the penile area, carefully accessing the erectile chambers. The customized implant, which includes inflatable cylinders, will be delicately placed within these chambers.

Pump Placement: A small pump, designed to control the inflation and deflation of the cylinders, will be positioned within the scrotum. This pump is discreet and intuitive to use, ensuring you have complete control over your erections.

Closing The Incision: Once the implant and pump are in place, the incision will be closed using sutures. This ensures minimal scarring and a smooth healing process.

Discharge: As you wake up from the anesthesia, you’ll be closely monitored to ensure your well-being. You will receive detailed instructions for post-operative care, including managing any discomfort and caring for the surgical site. If there are no complications, you will be discharged in a couple of days.

Recovery: You will rest and recover the following few weeks to ensure you get the best results from the implantation. Go for follow-up appointments so that your andrologist can ensure that you are healing as expected. Needless to say, sexual activities and physically stressful activities can countereffect the healing process.

Shock Wave Therapy

Shock Wave Therapy, also known as Low-Intensity Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (LI-ESWT), is a non-invasive procedure that utilizes acoustic waves to stimulate blood vessel growth and improve blood flow to the penis. This therapy promotes the body’s natural healing processes, helping men achieve more sustainable erections. Shock Wave Therapy is an ideal option for individuals seeking a non-surgical, drug-free alternative to ED treatment.

How Is It Done?

Based on your assessment during the consultation and physical examination, your andrologist will design a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. This plan will outline the number of sessions required and the areas to be targeted during the procedure.

On the day of your therapy, the surgeon will use a specialized device to deliver low-intensity shock waves to the targeted areas on the penis. The shock waves stimulate blood vessel growth and enhance blood flow to the penis. This process supports natural healing and can lead to improved erectile function over time.
